From 21 to 24 February 2018, the Challenge Cup and the Dutch Figure Skating Championships will take place in the Uithof in The Hague.Children up to 12 years have free entrance.
The Uithof in The Hague will be the venue for the Challenge Cup and the Dutch Figure Skating Championships from 21 to 24 February 2019. The Challenge Cup is a competition in which young, up-and-coming talents in the age of 10 to seniors get the chance to measure themselves on a global level with their fellow athletes.
In addition, the competition serves as preparation and final qualification for the international top figure skaters at the World Championships (4 weeks later in Saitama City Japan from 22 to 24 March) and the World Championships for juniors (2 weeks later in Zagreb, Croatia on 9 and 10 March). ). National titles are also at stake for the Dutch participants. The best Dutch figure skater in each category becomes the Dutch Champion.
The Challenge Cup is and remains a highly appreciated international competition. The Challenge Cup fits well with the ambition to get Dutch figure skating to the Olympic level and at the same time bring the sport to the attention of a large Dutch and international audience.
On February 24 the event will be concluded with battles during the Gala. During these battles there will be two riders on the ice who will get 20 to 30 seconds to compete against each other. The winner is choosen by the audience. Make sure you do not miss it!
